Extended reach cutting and gouging is a necessity for operators working with channels, beams, enclosures and compartments, or other oddly-shaped pieces that standard consumables cannot reach easily.
Overview
Hypertherm’s HyAccess™ extended reach consumables give users extra reach when plasma cutting or gouging in hard to access or confined spaces, and are designed for use with Powermax® air plasma systems. They extend approximately 76 mm (3″) longer than standard consumables and have a very narrow tip, providing better visibility and accessibility. This makes the consumables ideal for jobs like cutting corners and channels, cutting close edges, and cutting through flanges. It also reduces secondary operations and the need to use other equipment such as a grinding wheel or oxy acetylene torch.
Examples of when extended reach cutting and gouging is needed:
- Cutting of channels or beams with deep grooves
- Cutting or gouging inside an engine compartment or inside a wheel well
- Gouging welds in oddly shaped pieces
