What is waterjet cutting software?

• Waterjet software is used to program the cutting machine. OEM software may come equipped with the CNC machine, but in many cases fabricators and manufacturers upgrade to an aftermarket software commonly referred to as CAD/CAM nesting software which may offer additional features and has the added benefit of being able to program multiple different machine brands and models.

• Some types of CAD/CAM nesting software for waterjet can control a wide variety of cutting parameters including the tool path, feedrate (or cutting speed), kerf compensation, lead-ins, lead-outs, and more. And typically these parameters are based on the specific material type and thickness being cut.

How does waterjet nesting software optimize material usage?

• Advanced nesting algorithms are used to arrange part geometry (e.g. DXF, DWG file formats) into an efficient pattern. Manual or automatic nesting tools are used to maximize the sheet of raw material and lower production costs. The finished nest is exported to the CNC and completed by the waterjet cutter.

What is the difference between ProNest and ProNest LT?

• ProNest, our advanced level software provides even greater nesting efficiency to minimize material costs and increase profitability. It also supports beveled part nesting, plus additional cut processes like high-definition plasma, laser, drilling, and more. In addition, it offers enterprise applications like quoting, work order processing, production management, and ERP/MRP/MES integration. What waterjet machine types are supported by ProNest and ProNest LT?

• Both levels support high-pressure, pure or abrasive waterjet cutting, however, as mentioned above, only ProNest supports beveled part nesting. In addition, ProNest can support virtually any make or model of waterjet cutting machine, while ProNest LT is limited to certain, more commonly found brands including Flow, WARDJet, Jet Edge, AccuStream, and OMAX. CAN I still use ProNest LT if I have a bevel (5-axis) machine?

• Yes, you may still opt for ProNest LT at a lower price, but you will not be able to import any beveled parts into the software. Instead, you will need to rely on your OEM provided CNC software or other solution to process those parts separately. This approach might be right for you if you do a limited amount of bevel cutting.

 How does the free trial work?

• When you sign up for a free trial you’ll be asked to enter your billing information, but you will not be billed right away. Try it free for 7-days and cancel anytime during that period. After 7 days you will be automatically charged for your selected tier on a recurring basis.

What are the ongoing subscription terms?

• Subscriptions are available on a month-to-month basis, or for the best value, select an annual plan (save 10%) or a plan that renews every 3 years (save 20%).

What’s included in the free trial?

• You will receive a full working version of the software that you can download and install on your PC.

Does the free trial export NC code for cutting?

• Yes, as long as you request a setup file for your unique cutting machine. This allows ProNest LT to communicate with your machine and export the correct code.
