Overview
Upgrade your HyPerformance HPR400XD, HPR260 and HPR130 to the latest XD technology for superior cut quality and consistency, maximized productivity, minimized operating costs and unmatched reliability.
*When considering your upgrade options, please note that True Hole Technology requires a HyPerformance Plasma HPRXD auto gas system along with a True Hole enabled cutting table, nesting software, CNC, and torch height control. Consult with your table manufacturer for more details.
Hypertherm offers several upgrade options for existing HPR systems. Please contact your table manufacturer and Hypertherm sales representative for additional information.
Available Options
Option #1
For those customers who wish to take advantage of the following new enhancements:
- PowerPierce technology for thicker piercing capability
- New 80 amp mild steel bevel process
- Internal Ohmic contact system
- Improved reliability/robustness
This option is also for those Auto Gas system customers who wish to enable their HPR system for True Hole* technology.
Option #2
For those customers who wish to take advantage of the new argon marking process. This upgrade is the same as Option #1; a new Auto Gas Selection Console is also required.
Option #3
For those customers who have a Manual Gas system and wish to take advantage of either True Hole or the new argon marking. This upgrade is the same as Option #1 with additional requirements including a new Auto Gas Selection Console, Auto Gas Metering Console and new Gas Leads Assembly.
HPR400XD Upgrade Option - (for any HPR400XD purchased prior to November 2009)
This upgrade is for those customers with an Auto Gas system who wish to enable either True Hole* technology or take advantage of the new 80 amp mild steel bevel process.
For Manual Gas systems, please note that this upgrade requires a new Auto Gas Selection Console, Auto Gas Metering Console and new Gas Leads Assembly.
Benefits include (for HPR260 and HPR130):

Depending on the benefits you are interested in, there are a variety of options to choose from. If you have an Auto Gas system, the firmware kit will enable True Hole technology and the new 80 amp mild steel bevel process.
If you have a Manual Gas system, the firmware kit will enable the new 80 amp mild steel bevel process. If you wish to upgrade a Manual Gas system to True Hole Technology or improved argon marking, a new Auto Gas Selection Console, Auto Gas Metering Console and new Gas Leads Assembly is required. Please contact your table manufacturer and Hypertherm sales representative for additional information.

While different partners sell and service different products, in general, Hypertherm distributors sell the Powermax brand of air plasma products, as well as consumables for all types of Hypertherm systems; some distributors also sell automated products. Rental companies typically rent or lease Powermax air plasma products and may sell consumables for those systems. Table manufacturers / OEMs sell automated cutting products and consumables and typically offer service on what they sell. Systems integrators sell retrofits and upgrade products.
