Phoenix software updates

Hypertherm's proprietary Phoenix software is the core operational interface and is common across the entire family of CNCs. The software is designed specifically for the X-Y cutting market to improve ease of use, productivity and profitability.

Phoenix Version 9 is only to be used with EDGE Pro and MicroEDGE Pro and EDGE Pro Ti CNCs.

Each language has all the files you will need. Click on the language and download all the files below it.

Phoenix Version 8 can be used with MicroEDGE, EDGE Ti, Voyager III, Mariner
(for CPU's 1.2 GHz and above)

The downloads below include files needed to completely update your CNC control:

  • VERY IMPORTANT : When updating your CNC to the latest version using the download files, it is critical to install the new files in the following sequence:
  • 1. Update the software files first
  • 2. Update the help file
  • 3. Update the cut charts

This will prevent installation of cut charts with a software version that does not support them.

If using an advanced CAM software with embedded process commands, please contact your supplier to determine if an update is needed for your programming software.

Frequently asked questions

Updates within each main version number are provided free of charge. The release notes describe both the new features and bug fixes for the update. If you are in doubt about your use of a software update please contact Technical Support at Hypertherm and we will be glad to discuss your requirements.

  • Each release note contains instructions on how to use the downloaded files to update CNC, as well as how to update the Help and Cut Chart databases.

CAM software update is often necessary, however not in all cases. The more advanced features you use in your CAM software the more likely it is that you will need to update your CAM software. If using Hypertherm CAM, look for update news at www.hyperthermcam.com or contact CAM Technical Support at 716-434-3755. If using other CAM software, please contact your supplier for support.

Hypertherm releases Phoenix updates at least twice per year. These include bug fixes and new functionality. Because all updates include bug fixes, it is our recommendation to update when new versions are made available. If you are not certain, please contact your table manufacturer to verify the applicability of a given release.
